lift06 – expectations etc

1.31.2006 | 3 Comments

first of all I want to say that I am looking so much forward to stay with J.F Groff in his house in the mountains…

it is going to give the trip a whole new atmosphere instead of staying at a hotel downtown…

and it is going to be the first CanICrash ? crashee/crasher couch lending sleepover taking place, of course it will be blogged!

my expectations for lift06 is innovation and more insight in the innovative enviroment which is I use in my everyday life ( hence, the internet)..

and the prime purpose is to get to talk to all you lovely people out there…

but, I want more females ! – god knows we’re here…

and then, let’s see if my crappy computer is going to survive the trip and if I have power and Wireless access.. I mean something is always happening with it at conferences… hmmm

resumé of geekdinnerCPH 2.0

1.29.2006 | 8 Comments

first of all we will all be posting pictures etc etc tagged “geekdinnercph”.

secondly ” the metrobar” did such a good job at making the geekdinner a succes, there was no trouble what so ever.

A quick resumé:
the dinner consisted of old geeks, professional geeks, new geeks and gossip geeks ( and sex geeks even!) and everybody got together for a good mashup of conversation , european beer ( which we drank the bar out of) and food.
Gunnar Langemark wants to be the official agent of the danish bloggers, but I don’t know if we will let him ?.
Trine-Maria surprised me very much and gave me “the big moo” by Seth Godin. ( thanks a lot you sexy professional, non-boring blogger)..

everybody demanded a speech where I could say that the ” geekdinnercph” would never be sponsored by microsoft – without me telling the participants, and YES it is allowed to hand out business cards.

what I like the most about the geekdinnercph venue is that even though we are professional, and even though we are basically just kids ( from 21 to 45) we can relax with eachother and share ideas.. I, in particular, would like to hear from some of the new participants of the geekdinner – and if they got anything out of “us” at all ?

BTW – I won’t disappoint you – the next geekdinner will be at the 21st of april 2006 called ” your regular industry party” you can sign up here – yes we switched wiki’s because of “problems with Oschlag and the thehughpage.com – I will announce more about the new wiki soon. so far it is called ” In Real Life – proudly serving the danish blogosphere since 1896″ – and it’s going to be a meltingpot of all things danish and geekish!

I name it ” your regular industry party” – because the event has it all. you’ve got the “early birds”, “the newcomers” , “the swedish” , “the british one, who can’t say fuck off properly”, “the young one”, “the secret blogger”, “the really drunk ones”, and even LUUUUV

so a regular industry party we are.. !!

Social vs. Liberal

1.26.2006 | 1 Comment

there are two kinds of bloggers; the socialists who are in it for the crowd and the late afterparties. and the Liberalist who uses blogging to spark their own EGO..

don’t misunderstand me, we are all in it to spark projects and make aware of ourselves ( whether it is in our own little closed circle, the national circle or “CC: the internet”)

guess what I am?

we all have businesses but what is driving them ?

are you blogging just to have a blog ?

are you podcasting to have a podcast?

is your content about you or everybody else ?

can you give credit to people without getting any back ?

I don’t see how liberalist can see the benefits of social software if they in other terms and actions states that ” they don’t have anything in common with other people or bloggers ”

as monty python would have said ” I fart in your general direction”…

SNOORT.. period

the difference between me and Anina ” the model blogger “

1.25.2006 | 4 Comments

is that Anina has been paid 3000 euro’s to jump in the pool at the afterparty at the digital lifestyle day ‘06

NB NB Heiko Hebig, points out in my comments that Anina did it for charity… which is cool.. but still :

if I jumped a pool at a conference
a) I wouldn’t be paid
b) people would think I was a lunatic

so, Im good at networks, so what if I got Hugh Macleod,Tara Hunt,Ben Metcalfe and myself

would people pay us 3000 euro’s for the publicity of 4 brats in a pool ?

I wonder…

it pisses me off when bloggers…

1.25.2006 | 1 Comment

write about other people who has started a blog, or when mainstream media is starting to blog…
I mean what’s the news with people starting blogs ? it happens all the time !
and about corporations ? does it mean that they are going to be more openminded etc etc and more open to the customers voices ? maybe…
put PEOPLE you are filling my blogbridge with trash, I don’t care about what people are blogging and when.

Im over that ! it’s not interesting anymore!..

now lets talk bratpack 2.0 and rebelrebel - there’s something interesting.. !

but when Im at it McDonalds has started a “corporate responsability blog“.. no comments from me though..

the two things you need to know about the PIXAR-DISNEY deal

1.24.2006 | 1 Comment

couldn’t say it better myself, anyway isn’t it the point where Disney HAS to own Pixar ? btw Steve Jobs still has the majority… read at Paul Kedrosky’s blog via Argumente.ro

“Here are the only two factoids that caught my attention in all the nattering about Disney buying Pixar:

* $10m: The price Steve Jobs paid George Lucas for Pixar in 1986
* $3.52b: The price Disney is paying Steve Jobs for his 50.6% of Pixar in 2006″

social media at conferences

1.22.2006 | 0 Comments

because of the inspiration from the Neville Hobson brunch yesterday, a pretty hectic discussion evolved about social media integrated in conferences.
how much “disturbance” can you have at a conference without disrespecting the speakers ?

a good case was made by Trine-Maria where she stated that she found the backchannel incredibly annoying at Les Blogs
Mind you it did bring out a lot of disturbances to the presenters – but anyway aren’t all the social media surfing and uploading a part of the conferences ?
should the backchannel be hid – and not displayed in the background of the presenter ?
does it matter if it is a good or bad presenter ?

my opinion is the backchannel is a part of the hype of the conference. something you can look at and communicate on . at les blogs it didn’t bother me that it was running. Why ? because I was all the way in the back and I couldn’t see the writings on the wall. *s*

I guess I want to say “bring it on” guys. if you’re not doing a good presentation people will IM or blog or whatever.

and in conclusion I think that the presenters has to adjust to this new part of conferences. It will make them more entertaining and enlightning in the end.

meeting Neville Hobson in Copenhagen

1.22.2006 | 3 Comments

Uhh… cold early morning after the Pinup launch party – go to Copenhagen slightly dizzy and hangovered to meet up with the creme de la creme of the danish blogosphere.

Jesper Bindslev asking, Hobson answering

the first thing that Neville did was to pull out a recorder and wanted to record our conversation – it turned out that he wanted us to introduce ourselves and the danish crowd is going to be on “for immediate release” on monday. I said something about “blogging vs. podcast” and how I wanted podcast to be integrated and developed in the future… Ohh well you can hear tomorrow.
I will post a link ASAP

… I want to know if Neville made it allright out of Denmark, or his flight was one of the 140 cancelled flights in the airport ?

I hope that Jon Froda won’t mind me stealing his picture of flickr – Sorry Jon I forgot my camera…

the worlds best microscope is going to be placed in Denmark

1.19.2006 | 1 Comment

the Maersk foundation has payed 100 million DKR for a microscope to DTU ( Danish technical University)

from a PR point of view I believe that they think it will put Denmark on the map for science and technology as one of the leaders in innovation ( see also my last post) –

I think it’s going to work.

btw : as absurd as it seems this microscope can show a hair of a person – scaled up to the size of a footballfield…

I don’t know about you, but I am excited !
