don’t want to come out as a bitch
But I want to touch on the subject of the Gia vs. Anina discussion…
1. the discussion at LIFT’06 was lame, too generalised -and too ” we-are-starting-to-add-women-to-this-industry-yey!”
2. If there is ever a “women in technology panel ” again , I will personally boycut the conference.. women should speak on the same conditions as men at TECH conferences..
3. I hope none is taken this to personally, but in my opinion one of the reasons of Anina speaking at these conferences, is because of her ability for External PR - face it.. Local media love her… she’s news value and hot stuff ( and she’s taking photos with Robert Scoble)wuhu!
4. Anina is doing a good job, personally we’re not what you would call “fond of eachother”.. but in her own field she is doing something special.
5. in the tech world she is doing nothing more special than I am ( or Gia am).. she’s trying to make money doing something she loves..
6. I didn’t think that Anina had a significant place on the panel ( I think it is for external PR) and another woman could have taken her place…

Yep! I agree with you on everything. Re: #3 I’ve said elsewhere (oh, why am I not using CoComment?! OK I will now) that I think she’s great for the mainstream media… I just wish she’d have something more to say.
