what my mama didn’t teach me and I learned of “Can I Crash?”, knowledge learned by a wiki

crossposted at the Can I Crash? blog
after I have been discussing it with various people, and looked amazed at the “canicrash” tag on technorati - I am so surprised to see that the “can i crash?” wiki lives for itself. yes, I know there has been talks about that “if it’s out there, it isn’t yours anymore” and “you can’t really control it”.
But to feel it on one of my initiated projects ? that’s just wild !…
I am amazed each time a new conference takes on Can I Crash ? as a part of accomodation…
I think that wiki’s are a very strange format, because you don’t really know the outcome. you don’t know who will grasp it, and who wont. I like < a href="http://ruk.ca/w/index.php/Main_Page">Peter Rukavina’s “rukapedia” - where he instead of linking to one’s blog, he links to his own wiki ( where you then can write down whatever you want about yourself ( or Peter will write it for you). like a blog footnote - you can see my relation to him here.
but the idea of having a wiki as a part of a blog - is a cool thing , it is very personal and I think the work of relation between companies in a wiki would be a cool feature..
anyway I am going to look into lanching the worlds first henriettepedia (henrypedia?, weberpedia?, ) soon - based on peters excellent wiki.. to take my relations and network to another level.
I think the person that I have met, that shares my love for wiki’s the most is Olle Jonsson - he is a constant changer and perfectionist who keeps me going.. nice Olle, and thanks - sorry I had to mention you - but you have been a part of the canicrash proces..
right now I am only pushing the can i crash wiki to people who is having conferences around the world, - and get them to use it in their accommodation list.
then I have a rumanian and a japanese spokesperson - who is taking care of the different countries.. I am still looking for more ( a US and english spokesperson would be great…
but that’s it.. so the theory holds.. and I have no control over the wiki what so ever *s*
