to all you speakers out there…

8.30.2006 | 0 Comments

KnowHR blog has posted the top 10 best presentations ever..

I am in particularly fond of Andy Kaufman’s “mighty mouse” and Rupert Everett’s ” I say a little prayer for you” making it onto the list.

but very good list – and a lot of learning and creativity…

found on Guy Kawasaki’s blog – of course on his geek week post

Ewan Spence is in town – blogger/podcaster brunch on saturday

8.29.2006 | 11 Comments

Ewan Spence – Blogger and Executive Director of “the podcast network” is visiting Copenhagen with his family.

Ewan is one of the driving forces behind the podcast network – a network of podcast shows that both has had Canon and Motorola as sponsors in the past… for the last months he has been running The Podcast Network in perfect style, for the Edinburgh Fringe festival..

and YES ! – he is Scottish.. and the last time I met him he wore a kilt, need I say more ?…

I have arranged a blogger/podcaster brunch on saturday at 11 at Café Elvira on Østerfælled Torv 24-26, København Ø..

sign up in the comment area to this post, if you want to meet us..

ps. there’s going to be at least three small kids there ( age 2 – 4), so other bloggerkids are welcome as well *s*

framing of the danish geekdinners

8.29.2006 | 0 Comments

The danish blogosphere is bursting with events right now. you have geekdinner no 5 on the 28th of october, bloggerdinners occassionally,
blogforum and barcamp ( the two last ones within a month)…

and really I have thought about quitting the geekdinners – because I don’t know if there’s space for them anymore ( you tell me – are there? – I would really hate to see them go.)

so far how I see all these events like this;

*Blogforum is for bloggers.

*bloggerdinners are for ” the usual suspects”

*BarCamp Copenhagen is an un-conference for companies and persons with a view on technology and the future – who wants to participate in the conversation and share their views

and Geekdinners has always been framed for me like this:

dinners for people who are passionate and fascinated

from wikipedia: A geek (IPA: [gi?k]) is a person who is fascinated, perhaps obsessively, by obscure or very specific areas of knowledge and imagination, usually electronic or virtual in nature.

so usually we are social software geeks ( bloggers and wiki-freaks), fashion geeks, ruby on rails geeks, museum geeks, technology geeks and music geeks…
allthough we are all very inspiring – and we like each other a lot… we like to keep the forum open.
therefore we invite all others to participate, for conversation and sharing.

you can sign up for geekdinner here – it’s our 1st birthday

blogforum 2 : on the 8th of October

8.27.2006 | 0 Comments

Today was the day where around 10 of the danish bloggers got together to find out a way to embrace all of the danish blogosphere in one event.

Hereby is meant all types of bloggers that you can think of ( and not just the ” usual suspects” aka. geeks and professionals ).

the reason it appeals to me, and the reason I contributed with my presence at this meeting – is that I would hate to see some network expert state ” that the blogosphere is a homogenic community” as is said by some network expert about networks for women.
adding to this, one of my recent targets is to evolve the danish blogosphere – and hereby I mean creating more “unity in the community” – or some sort of ” united we stand” atmosphere.

the meeting was hosted by Line, who thought we might be a hungry/hangovered bunch – She had both made cakes and bread, which was wonderful.

I accidentally loaded myself with coffee.

and also it was a chance to meet new and familiar faces.

Blogforum is going to be a blast – keep watching blogforum.dk the next couple of days – and sign up when the site is working…

I will try to make it an exciting ride for everyone.. so will everybody else Im sure.

opening up the gates – a risk ?

8.23.2006 | 3 Comments

Joachim Thomas and I have decided that we will open up the gates of Toothless Tiger. This means that we will blog about meetings of Toothless Tiger and who we are speaking to, with and why.

is it a risk ? YES!. But in my constant search for diversification from the rest of the sheeps – I think we will take it.

also this is probably the biggest paradox that I have with “blog consultants” or firms dealing with social software… We ( including myself) are talking about openess and change of mentality – yet we are not ourselves exposed enough to actually talk openess.

have we really opened up the gates of our own companies ?

Now – we will do it – with the acknowledgement from the places we speak and the companies we meet.

André Hedetoft has gone mad …

8.22.2006 | 2 Comments

…in his ultimate dream to become a geek movie director. He has even created a game and a whole website around his ultimate dream – you can find it here

to go to the next level in the André Hedetoft game, he has to sell 1000 t-shirt saying ” save André Hedetoft” – I have allready bought one for me and my beau. You should do the same…

why ? because the extend that he is going – to achieve his dream.

and I am a sucker for creative marketing – and if this is not creative – what is?…

and if this is NOT geeky marketing – what is ?

SLOB’ed twice in two weeks!

8.16.2006 | 1 Comment

A couple a days ago, I blogged about a SLOB award on the Toothless Tiger blog – that Thomas and my designer Simon Nygaard had gotten for the outstanding design and usability of Toothless Tiger.

As of the 13th of August, “Only the real is unreal” is SLOB’ed too -and find it’s rightful (*s*) place in the SLOB hall of fame.

wow…

these words are taken from the SLOB blog about henrietteweber.com

OK, there must be a Danish thing going on today. Here’s another yummy one. Check out this quote: “The reason I like blogging is the disorder it causes to some extent. Yes I am a rebel by heart. I am passionate about it because it’s uncontrollable, and even though it frightens me, I think disorder is what the world needs sometimes.” That’s fairly cool … almost but not quite as cool as the blog title.

thanks for the nice words John…

more about my workshop at shift 06

8.10.2006 | 0 Comments

I am doing a creativity workshop with Dannie Jost at Shift 06 in Lissaboa on the 27th of september.

the main text from the workshop page goes like this :

“The creation of something new is not accomplished by the intellect but by the play instinct acting from inner necessity. The creative mind plays with the objects it loves. Carl Jung”
We are all born very creative and screaming. We go to school, learn to add and do other fancy stuff, and most of the time forget how be creative. In this “Creativity Workshop” we will playfully provide you with a remedial one day crash course aimed at having you claim back some of that creativity that you were born with, and borrow some more from your own resources. We will not solve all your creative problems and we do not promise that you will see God, however we do plan to have some fun looking into several aspects of creativity that are important in technology and life. This is an applied workshop, do come prepared to work on your own goals and to scream.
The complete program and objectives for this workshop will be published until the 30th of July.

I am looking forward to this conference, so sign up and have a blast with me and the rest of the gang !

I am hoping that Pedro will adopt one of my Shangri La pictures in the conference text, but let’s see. it would be brilliant though
