CONFERENCE OF CAKES :

29092006440.jpg

it’s been one of the better conferences – actually I will vote for conferences with max 100 participants, basically everybody got to know each other here

you actually get that rare “wow, who is he ? and why haven’t I talked to him allready” that are basically rare at tech conferences.

the team and Pedro did a great job… let’s do it again…

ps. more pictures of mine here

ohh and Dannie’s cousins apartment is hereby added to my bedroll
( as a part of the Can I Crash ? wiki)

this has been my longest blogpause ever. really. 13 days.

I have been on a vacation in London and the next 14 days looks quite busy.

Im still speaking and workshopping at Shift06 with Dannie Jost I think we are going to be drinking loads of red wine and be really girlie… ( ahem.. when we are done with our jobs at shift…) of course.. I dunno – Dannie what do you think – should we have a housewarming party ?

also, I am still looking for a location for BarCamp Copenhagen, if you know of anyone who would like to host it, tell me !

- and I can announce that the speeches are going to be in english because people are coming over from across the sea…

“la belle epoque” of the web nowadays.

9.07.2006 | 2 Comments

I have started my open university film and media course again. yep.

The film history course that I am taking this fall ( together with audiovisual productions) had a very interesting lecture this monday.

actually, the film industry in 1895 (the dawn of film production where the Lumiére brothers held the first public screening of movies in Paris) looks a lot like the web today.
the film industry in 1895 was completely hyped also… How can I tell ?

well look up George Mèliés movies on the web.

He was a magician – and found out that he could do ” magic tricks” with film production and dazzle his audience. I in particular enjoy these three

the naivity and the exciting behaviour that Mèliés is showing, is so very inspiring.

I mean here he is, making films, using technology in a way that none has done before .

The web today has the same kind of substance. We have no idea how to use it yet. We have no idea what it will become. Still there is a part of the naivity and excitement that is missing.

Why ?

Because everything has been done before. Or that is the general idea.

to prove my case : I am absolutely in love with André Hedetofts mission to become a geek movie director. I know for a fact that this is what he urging to do for a living. I think it is fascinating that he has developed a whole game around his passion – and his dream.

other people are saying ” it has been seen before” – “it is nothing new” – ” you should just start vlogging”… But I sense that André is somewhere in Malmø, eager to begin his career in this way.

Can’t things be remarkable because they have been done before ?

so lets get the naivity and excitement back into the web. lets all be like Mèliés and chop our heads of 5 times and make them sing *s*

psst no 1 : blognetworking for dummies

venus-fly-trap-plants.jpg

a day delayed.. sorry guys, but I have a daytime job now. Anyway here goes :
social skills is a problem for many people ( and snort.. geeks) – I have trained myself to ask questions ( maybe in the comment section of a blog?) to people I don’t know without being obnoxious or too personal. in social networks ( like the blogosphere) it is my firm belief that it’s a good idea to tell people what you think about their writings – whether it’s good or bad.

the blogosphere might be an open place, but still, it is the same people commenting on the same blogs. Don’t worry, I do it too – maybe because I have a personal relation to most of the blogs I comment on. Whether I met them on a conference, a geekdinner or  over coffee – the personal contact means a lot to me. So I can understand why ” noveau bloggers” are a bit taken by the closedness of the blogosphere.

I am currently practising as I preach and comment on a new blog everyday. maybe some good connections will come out of it.

maybe you would get something out of it too ?

“pssst” – weekly hints from Henriette about:

marketing, fun, uniqueness, remarkability, passion, geekness, PR, spontanity, creativity, seriousity, leading projects, networking, smiling, competing, developing, socializing, artistic skills, woman and child hood”

they are going to be out every wednesday – and I look forward to doing them.

basically I am trying to embrace what I think makes me succesful – and different.

let’s see where we end up shall we ?

Canada’s word of mouth community

9.01.2006 | 0 Comments

Jay posted this link in the Pinko Marketing Group

it is actually a community of word of mouth campaigns you can subscribe to.

you get “points” and you can refer your friends.

two points for the innovative community of word of mouth. Two minus’es for normal grafs of how to reach your consumers and have your product marketed. and the pictures and very commercial design…

but I guess it can be used for commercial use, but also political lobbyism and grassroot participation
