if it’s starting to look like a business – then it probably is a business

12.19.2006 | 0 Comments

So I have planned a blogpost and a video episode of ” surprise extraordinaire”( my video blog) to “launch” this properly.

may I introduce: “My Mommy Loves Me”

first I want to say: yes, it’s an odd name… BUT it was first developed when I was 19 and I never probably launched it. And I love that name it used to be for all style Henriette’ish ( I also tattooed on clothes at that time ) – and now it evolves around boring t-shirts as well. both tech conference t-shirts, but also football jerseys and other things I can get my hands on and tear apart *s*

because I like to remodify things and make them more “me”… so if you want something like this, send me an email at henriette@toothlesstiger.net and I will sketch something up for you.. and we can get you something pretty *s*

but here’s the 23 and flickr set

if you don’t like it – change it.

12.18.2006 | 0 Comments

This post is about t-shirts… more in particular conference t-shirts.

there has been a huge discussion on Kathy Sierra’s blog and now John Doods chips in

my point of view ? ” if you don’t like it, change it..”

If I hadn’t redesigned my conference t-shirts I would only wear them for workout ( well not even, picture me in a geeky conference t-shirt and spandex amongst a lot of body builders.. I don’t think so)

I think that no matter how great the design of the t-shirt is – i will alter it, personalize it and make it suit me…

T-shirts as standard are boring. I really do believe that.. however I love what Threadless are doing with t-shirts, and well, I like my own t-shirt redesign too..

Maybe I am rebelling, but it’s a statement for me I guess, I will not be standardised or putted into boxes, i have an inner rebellic demon that makes people love me, or hate me…

I think that it’s a statement of “not being a part of the echo chamber”

And how I always want to do my own thing, and not following in the footstep of “mainstream blogging echochambers”

I just can’t let myself be standardised as a boring conference t-shirt.. no ma’am

gender quotas – get over it…

12.18.2006 | 1 Comment

Last week the CEO (Jørgen Mads Clausen) of one of the biggest companies (Danfoss) in Denmark was quoted that ” gender quotas in boards of directors makes less qualified ladies take the place of more qualified men”..

my first thought was ” what a neandertal way of thinking”….

I am wondering if they are taking the place of more qualified people or women for that sake ?…

I mean more qualified men ? this is a top executive stating this… I don’t want to get into the whole feminism/equal right for both genders discussion, because I am way past that ! – I believe that even though there are two genders, there’s a lot of qualified individuals around…

of course, a board of directors shouldn’t be forced to take a less qualified person to the board because of the gender, it should be the best (wo)man for the job.

I am a firm believer that in the future, we will see more female leaders in colorful clothes leading the most succesful businesses..

I say more individualism.. in every context.

and if there’s gender quotas in board of directions – then I am sure that the right women are chosen for the job, as well as the right men…

I don’t get the typepad communication

12.16.2006 | 0 Comments

I have been wondering about this for so long, I use wordpress – but I comment on some blogs that uses typepad…

Tonight, I had to comment on Kathy Sierra’s blog because she wrote about tech conference T-shirts (one of my niche’s , you can see my “design” here)

I was wondering – when you click ” post comment” it comes up with

” an error occured” – “The language of your comment does not match the preferred language of this user”

and then I have to fill in some letters and numbers that I can never get right… but is it because they think Im a spammer or is it because my english is so crap ?

isn’t it a bit odd communication ? – does native english speakers get the same ( meaning I am a terrible english speaker and should stop blogging in english) or is it just a weird way of saying ” prove you’re not a spammer “?

“whatdowedo” mobile apps – either it’s going to get really good or really nasty

12.15.2006 | 8 Comments

“whatdowedo” is my name for the mobile apps where you tell people what you are thinking etc – what I predict will be the step further for the blogosphere. I think it’s brilliant…
but Twitter is starting to give me a bit of problems – or the “twitter’ers” – because everytime one of my “friends” on Twitter is “twittering” – I have an sms send.

So far I only have 8 people on my friend list, but ! – it results in 40 extra sms’s a day. it’s grand ! but I can’t turn some of the friends of the mobile ( only all friends or direct messages seems to be the option now)…

and this is not to bitch about my friends but… the mentality of the messages has to be something good – otherwise I am not interested… I mean, I would claim that my friends are wasting my time if they write stuff like ” in the bathroom”, “podcasting”, “reading a book” on twitter…
I want their thoughts – not stuff where I generally think ” so what?” –

so watch out for the twittering people… and I think for this to be truely exceptional, we need to watch our words as well =)

Twitter vs. Jaiku – and is “what we do?” the next big thing ?

12.14.2006 | 5 Comments

So lately I have been Jaiku’ing away on my lovely N70, I really enjoy it a lot.

yesterday I found out that I could add my Twitter RSS feedto my Jaiku account

So both my contacts in both communities are covered – excellent…

I don’t know which one I would choose – I think Jaiku has the biggest potential – while twitter has the biggest hype and community. Jaiku is more open though – and more fun.. Especially since I uninstalled their client from my mobile and just sms my presence in…

But this could be the next big thing to blogging – actually I think it is…”what we do, thought in our heads -instant messages that people can’t stop reading because they are sms’ed to them instead of having them looked up on the internet or in a blog reader. Picture what you could use this for, in let’s say your microenvironment and establishing spontanious relations over mobile as well ? picture how attractive this is going to be to SPAM ?… but it’s so much more fun – I am enjoying it fully…

Ungdomshuset’s youtube video

12.13.2006 | 6 Comments

this is taking up a lot of media coverage in Denmark… understandably.

I am on ungdomshuset’s side though – even though I don’t like the violence and the message in the video, I want to say ” well what other options do they have”..

I am really tired of everything being normalised in Denmark – Christ.. it’s a house – probably only bought by the christian cult as a PR stunt… that is one thing I am positively sure of.

let the kids play and give them their house ( ohh yeah and keep Christiania the way it is as well)…
