gender quotas - get over it…

Last week the CEO (Jørgen Mads Clausen) of one of the biggest companies (Danfoss) in Denmark was quoted that ” gender quotas in boards of directors makes less qualified ladies take the place of more qualified men”..
my first thought was ” what a neandertal way of thinking”….
I am wondering if they are taking the place of more qualified people or women for that sake ?…
I mean more qualified men ? this is a top executive stating this… I don’t want to get into the whole feminism/equal right for both genders discussion, because I am way past that ! - I believe that even though there are two genders, there’s a lot of qualified individuals around…
of course, a board of directors shouldn’t be forced to take a less qualified person to the board because of the gender, it should be the best (wo)man for the job.
I am a firm believer that in the future, we will see more female leaders in colorful clothes leading the most succesful businesses..
I say more individualism.. in every context.
and if there’s gender quotas in board of directions - then I am sure that the right women are chosen for the job, as well as the right men…

He is sort of right.
Instead of forcing companies to have x % of women on the board, the companies should actually be motivated to “more fairly distribute” gender – or however you want to call it. Whether he’s motivated, no idea.
