do’s and don’t's of entrepreneurship
![]()
So tonight I was having a great chat with a friend that I haven’t talked to in a long time, right after I got home from the Cheese Fondue at Bain du Paquis at the Lift Conference. We had a chat about entrepreneurship and do’s and don’t's – here’s what I came up with afterwards :
I have been talking about people who are in it for the money or in it for the people ( the community). I would any day claim that being in it for the people gets you further in the long run…
I am really sick and tired of people practicing as they are preaching – as long as it’s for their own advantage.
If there’s not a great big piece of pie at the end of the rainbow of giving and sharing without receiving, they are basically not interested. if the big “what’s in it for me ?” isn’t bend in neon – and pay off isn’t big enough – they’re out the door.
so I have putted together a little piece of Henriette do’s and don’t's of entrepreneurship… here goes:
- do be excited about new trends, and don’t be sad that changes are happening everyday. find new areas to explore.
- do respect people because of their differences, if they are more succesful than you, there’s probably a reason.
- don’t threat your microenviroment as a kindergarden. it simply doesn’t pay off.
- if you’re researching and blogging show the community instead of your own little navel. nobody cares about your 10 pictures of flowers on your corporate photoblog if there is 1000 flowerpictures in total in the same photosite. – people are not stupid…
- don’t dictate what other people has to do, to get your own processes through.
- don’t ask for a large fee if you are asked to do a speech. Business isn’t rocket science. Your competitors will probably do it for free.
- don’t say more “unity for the community” if you mean more “unity for me”.. it will shine right through dear…
that’s all *s*
