Fx. facebook is for your friends, but what is your blog then ? so when do you decide to you twitter and when do you use jaiku... when do you use linkedin and when do you use Xing? it's so complicated ... I think that connected objects will be a part of the answer... it would make it much more exciting wouldn't it =? Oh Tom, I would love to make that app =)

I do agree with your vision. there is something happening here. there is something about the idea of passively broadcasting your personal-context or seeing the current status/context of your friends that is important.

I think that the personal and friendliness has taken overhand ( how can a webapp be friendly anyway ?) Jaiku is providing some tools to consolidate everything.
