inner noise ninja attack
![]()
How awake is you inner noise ninja ? - I think mine is constantly present and very trained in separating noise from “marketing”.
There’s a lot of noise to go around these days - from newsletters and snailmails ( that you can’t seem to unsubscribe from) to phone calls from newspaper sellers, to facers on the street (or followers as I would call them these days - because nomatter how uncomfortable it is to you - they literally walk with you to convince you to support their NGO).
Actually this is a problem for me. And what resulted in an inner noise ninja attack from my side. A noise ninja attack is happening inside of me when I am exposed to too much noise.
it’s when a “salesperson” though I politely say “no - I don’t want to buy your product” - keeps on pushing and pushing.
so here’s the story:
I like NGO’s because they are (most of the time) made to do good. I am supporting a great deal of them - and has also been volunteering in many NGO’s to make a difference (mainly because - deep down I really want to save the world).
the other day a Unicef facer ( or follower) chatted me up on the street and kept talking, even though I told him that I allready supported various NGO’s and that I wasn’t interested. But he didn’t seem to get the message. He asked me ” why not support another one” - and I politely told him that it was my own business whom I supported and it was my own choice what I was to do with my money.
After 50 meters I felt cornered - and my inner noise ninja started kicking and fighting to get out of me.
It resulted in the sudden outburst; “if you don’t stop following me around I swear I will never support Unicef again”.
I would never have said that myself - but being exposed too much noise - I guess no one can tell how they would react being cornered.
KIIIYAAAH!

Hi Henriette, I work for a charity and i DESPISE this type of donation tactic. We call them chuggers (a portmanteau of “charity” and “mugger”). People who are recruited using this method are more likely to cancel their monthly donation than other recruitment methods. Thus I do not know why charities use them. It does reflect on their charity too - thus provide feedback to that chaity as after lots of complaints from the public about rude recruiters then they will realise that it is not affective.
