Hi Henriette, I work for a charity and i DESPISE this type of donation tactic. We call them chuggers (a portmanteau of "charity" and "mugger"). People who are recruited using this method are more likely to cancel their monthly donation than other recruitment methods. Thus I do not know why charities use them. It does reflect on their charity too - thus provide feedback to that chaity as after lots of complaints from the public about rude recruiters then they will realise that it is not affective.
