And don’t be embarrased. WordPress uses nofollow as default in a lousy atempt to fight spam.
But don’t wory about spam. With the Akismet plugin installed (you do have Akismet, right?) you are home free.

Thank you very much – I just relaunched my blog a month and a half ago and I had no idea that I didn’t give link love. Actually I am a bit embarrased about that now =( hope you can cope with a non-techie on this. I thought I was all about link love and juice.

When installed it will remove the rel=”nofollow” from comments. And you will pass link love to those who keeps your blog alive!

Well then, its about definitions. Trafic is visitors from a nothe site e.g. Facebook. I agree that Facebook and other social sites can generate trafic if they are used correct.
Link love is when one site links to another site, and passes (Google) link juice. Normaly the term link love is used to describe blogs (as my own) that do not use rel=”nofollow” in comments. Your blog for instance do not pass any link love
And neither does Facebook!

@søren – Hi søren – I have just looked through my stats and around 10 % of my total traffic on toothlesstiger.com comes from facebook – 5 % from the page. that’s good enough for me =).

The first link from a page is normally to other facebook ressources ( if you are talking RSS) – under the specific post – if it’s something facebook or you have imported to the page, you can normally go to the original post.

@2: I am not sure you can get any link love from Facebook using a page. Links on the public part of the page are either nofollow or links to other Facebook resources.

Hi Alex – well no not really – basically because they drive on two different systems. a commercial one and a group one.

You have to bear in mind that this is a community and not a broadcasting tool =) which is why I guess the updates from fan pages aren’t in the inbox. It’s a way to protect the community from becoming overcommercialized.
